Axonius has announced the appointment of Chris Jones as Chief Trust & Security Officer (CTSO) and Dan Schoenbaum as Senior Vice President (SVP) of Business Development. Previously, Jones was deputy CISO at Cisco, led CLEAR’s security efforts, and founded Nike’s global cybersecurity incident response team. Before joining Axonius, Schoenbaum served as CMO at Hive Pro and held leadership positions at Team Cymru, RiskIQ, Redbooth, and Cooladata.

Optiv has appointed Sean Forkan as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Previously, Forkan served in various sales leadership roles at Black Duck Software, VMware/Broadcom, Cisco, Oracle, Symantec/Veritas, and EY.

Sectigo has announced the appointment of Ian Hassard as Chief Product Officer (CPO). Hassard previously led product management at Okta, Auth0, and Arctic Wolf Networks, and co-founded RootSecure (acquired by Arctic Wolf).

Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) has appointed Hanlie Botha as its first Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Botha previously served as CISO at Ticketek Entertainment Group (TEG) and held leading cybersecurity roles at Woolworths Group and Ausgrid.

Social engineering protection company Doppel has promoted Alyssa Smrekar to Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Prior to being promoted, Smrekar served as Senior Vice President of Marketing. Before joining Doppel, Smrekar held marketing leadership roles at Dbt Labs, Intercom, Okta, and VMware.

HackerOne announced the appointment of Naveen Bhateja as Chief People Officer. Bhateja previously held senior people leadership roles at companies such as Medidata, Juniper Networks, Amazon, and JPMorgan Chase.

The Department of War (DoW) has appointed Sonu Shankar as Principal Deputy Chief Information Officer (PDCIO). Shankar previously served as a Strategic Advisor to the Department of War as part of the Business Operators for National Defense (BOND) program. He also held leadership roles at various private sector companies, including Phosphorus Cybersecurity, Arctic Wolf, and Cisco.

Trellix has named David Pieterse as Chief Operating Officer – Go-To-Market (COO-GTM) and David Soto as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Prior to joining Trellix, Pieterse served as Chief Revenue Officer at Recorded Future and at Snow Software. Soto most recently served as Head of Infrastructure Security at Amazon, and previously held positions at Check Point, Optiv, and Pacific Life.

Mike Marshall has been appointed State Chief Information Security Officer at the California Department of Technology. Marshall has served as Acting Information Officer at the California Environmental Protection Agency since 2022, and previously held the role of Agency Information Security Officer. The compensation for the CISO position is $210,792.

Aspen Digital, a program of the Aspen Institute, has named Devi Nair as Director of Cybersecurity Programs. Nair joins Aspen Digital following leadership roles at Wells Fargo and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). She previously served as associate director and associate fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).

Forcepoint has named Vincent Merlin as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Prior to joining Forcepoint, Merlin held senior marketing roles at Proofpoint for more than a decade, most recently as SVP of Global Growth Marketing. He previously held leadership roles at Aveva and RSA Security.

Vensure Employer Solutions has appointed Michael Lockhart as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Prior to joining Vensure, he served as CISO for aerial imagery firm EagleView, and previously held leadership positions at Salesforce, including Director of Governance for MuleSoft’s API platform.
