RSA, The Security Division of EMC and endpoint security firm Lumension today announced an agreement to embed parts of the RSA Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Suite into Lumension products. The initial goal will be for Lumension to build DLP classification technology and expert RSA DLP policy libraries into future versions of its Device Control product module.
The agreement will also enable Lumension endpoint security products to work seamlessly with the rest of RSA’s DLP offerings for networks and datacenters. By building DLP technology into the infrastructure, RSA and Lumension hope to offer customers a complete data protection solution from gateway to endpoint, with common policies and common classifications of sensitive data. Other features that are planned include:
• Comprehensive content awareness across data transferred off the endpoint and onto removable media, allowing organizations to not only apply a policy to particular file types, but also to data within file types such as social security numbers.
• The ability to define highly granular polices related to permissible activity and data types at the endpoint, without impacting organizational productivity.
• Execution via a single console, single agent solution that increases visibility across data location, policy and movement while reducing the administrative burden.
