Cybersecurity AI company Darktrace has appointed Jill Popelka as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Effective immediately, former CEO Poppy Gustafsson steps down and Popelka, Darktrace’s current Chief Operating Officer (COO), will assume the role and become a member of the company’s Board of Directors. Prior to Darktrace, Popelka held senior leadership roles at Accenture, Snap Inc, and SAP SuccessFactors.
Alexis Wales has announced on her LinkedIn page that she has been appointed the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of GitHub. Wales has held cybersecurity leadership roles at the company since January 2022. Prior to joining GitHub, she served at the Department of Homeland Security for over 12 years, including at the cybersecurity agency CISA.
Nightwing, a provider of cybersecurity and intelligence solutions for government agencies, has appointed Christopher Jones as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Chief Data Officer (CDO). With 28 years of experience, Jones previously served as the Central Intelligence Agency’s Associate Deputy Director for Science and Technology. In his new roles at Nightwing, Jones will oversee the company’s research, development, and integration of technologies into products and services.
AI-automated software testing firm Code Intelligence has appointed Eric Bruggemann as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Bruggemann, who served as the company’s Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer (COO) since last year, was previously Chief of Staff at Thinkproject. As CEO of Code Intelligence, he will oversee the company’s growth and international expansion, working with the leadership team to set new standards in software security.
Managed cybersecurity services provider High Wire Networks has appointed Edward Vasko as Chief Executive Officer and Mark Dallmeier as Chief Revenue Officer of the company’s Overwatch managed cybersecurity services division. Vasko has been serving as a strategic advisor to Overwatch and previously served as the director of Boise State University’s Institute of Pervasive Cybersecurity.
