He replaces Guy Rosen, who announced his retirement from the company after 13 years.

Assaf Keren announced on Wednesday that he is the new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of social media giant Meta.

“Building AI at the frontier means building the trust infrastructure for it at the same frontier, with the same seriousness, at a scale that touches billions of people. There are few places in the world where that problem is bigger, harder, or more consequential,” Keren said. “The role brings together everything I’ve spent my career on: security, systems, and the human work of earning confidence.”

Prior to joining Meta, Keren served as SVP and Chief Security Officer (CSO) at enterprise software maker Qualtrics.

He joined Qualtrics in March 2024, after nine years at payments giant PayPal, where he held a wide range of leadership roles, including CISO.
