WhiteHat Security Names Craig Hinkley as CEO

Web application security firm WhiteHat Security on Tuesday said that Craig Hinkley has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the company, taking over the position from company founder Jeremiah Grossman who took the role of interim CEO in February 2014.

Web application security firm WhiteHat Security on Tuesday said that Craig Hinkley has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the company, taking over the position from company founder Jeremiah Grossman who took the role of interim CEO in February 2014.

Prior to joining WhiteHat Security, Hinkley served as the vice president and general manager of the LogLogic business unit for TIBCO Software. In that role, he was responsible for global field sales and operations, client technical services, engineering, research and development, product design and product management. Before TIBCO, Hinkley served as the general manager at HO for the company’s networking business in the Americas. Earlier in his career, Hinkley held positions at Cisco Systems Inc. and Bank of America.

“When looking to hire the new CEO, we needed someone who is passionate about web security and who has the drive to take us to the next level,” Grossman said. “We believe that Craig’s leadership abilities and vision for the company are exactly what WhiteHat needs and we are excited to have him join the team.”

WhiteHat Sentinel, the company’s flagship cloud-based platform, helps test and monitor the security of web sites for organizations across various industries including e-commerce, finance and healthcare. The company also offers a mobile edition of Sentinel that lets businesses assess the source code and runtime interactions of mobile applications.

Grossman will remain with the company and continue to focus on technology, product innovation, strategy and customer relations.

“My passion is, and continues to be, Web security, and WhiteHat is the very best place to do that. The vast majority of my day-to-day activity will remain largely unchanged,” Grossman wrote in a blog post. “I will be heavily focused on our technology, product innovation, and strategy. With Craig on board, I’ll be freed up to focus more of my time and attention on those critical details.”
