SafeNet Appoints Prakash Panjwani President and Chief Executive Officer
Data protection firm SafeNet announced on Wednesday that it has named Prakash Panjwani as the company’s new President and Chief Executive Officer.
Panjwani replaces President and CEO, Dave Hansen, who the company said is departing the organization for unspecified personal reasons. Hansen joined the company from CA Technologies in December 2012, replacing Chris Fedde who had been with the firm since 2001.
Panjwani, who has been with SafeNet for 12 years, has also been appointed as a member of the company’s Board of Directors.
Since joining the company, Panjwani has held several executive positions, most recently serving as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the company’s Data Protection group.
During his time at the company, Panjwani was responsible for refocusing the company’s data protection product portfolio on crypto management, data encryption, and authentication. Prior to SafeNet, Prakash spent several years at Certicom Corporation in various management positions, including Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Business Development. Prior to Certicom, he served in various roles at Motorola Inc. and Telcordia (formerly Bellcore).
“Seeing SafeNet grow from a small start-up to one of the leading information security companies in the world has been a truly inspiring experience for me, alongside the employees I have worked with for more than a decade and the customers who rely on us to protect their most sensitive information,” said Prakash Panjwani, President and CEO, SafeNet.
