SecurityWeek's 2019 Singapore ICS Cyber Security Conference

SecurityWeek's 2019 Singapore ICS Cyber Security Conference

SecurityWeek’s ICS Cyber Security Conference, the premier industrial and critical infrastructure cyber security conference series, returns to Singapore this year for a three-day event packed with talks from world-renowned experts, unfettered panel discussions, workshops, and international networking. The event takes place on April 16-18 at the Fairmont Singapore and Swissôtel The Stamford.

This unique event will bring together top industrial cybersecurity experts and companies to discuss the threat landscape and ways to overcome the most pressing challenges. The 2019 Singapore ICS Cyber Security Conference provides a wealth of knowledge, including lessons learned from recent investigations into ICS cyber incidents, discovering vulnerabilities, identifying threats, reducing cyber risk, and strategies for selecting OT cybersecurity vendors.

As the largest and longest-running cyber security conference for the industrial control systems sector, the event caters to energy, manufacturing, utility, chemical, transportation, and other industrial and critical infrastructure organizations, including the military.

The event will kick off on Tuesday, April 16, with a session from representatives of Saudi Aramco, the Saudi Arabian national petroleum and natural gas company that was targeted by the notorious Shamoon malware back in 2012. They will share the lessons learned by the company and describe how they have implemented a major OT network monitoring system that helps them prepare for any breach.

Yaron Paryanty, Vice President of Product at industrial cybersecurity firm Claroty, will share practical advice on addressing industrial cyber risks, and Doug Wylie, Director of Industry Practice at the SANS Institute, will talk about the risks associated with digitalization in industrial automation.

After the morning break, Dr. Gowri Rajappan, Director of Technology and Cybersecurity at Doble Engineering Company, will share some insights on what it takes to secure field operations.

Nozomi Networks will share its analysis of the GreyEnergy malware, and representatives of Applied Risk and ForeScout will describe potentially serious vulnerabilities they have identified recently in weather monitoring and building automation systems, respectively.

The first day features several technical talks, including on gaining situational awareness of all devices in an organization’s environment, RF exploitation, hunting for zero-day and fileless malware, and using OSINT technology for pentesting critical infrastructure.

The strategy-focused presentations will teach attendees how to use a comprehensive governance program to reduce risk, and securing critical infrastructure operators by converging IT and OT.

On the second day of the ICS Cyber Security Conference, Bob Gill, General Manager for Southeast Asia at ARC Advisory Group, will help organizations pick the right threat detection and response solutions, and Thomas Quek, Principal Security Advisor at REDCON, will share information that can be highly useful for incident response teams.

Gjoko Krstic, senior researcher at Applied Risk, will detail vulnerabilities found in building management systems.

The second day’s strategy and technical talks will focus on securing critical infrastructure with active OT protection, cybersecurity and safety in autonomous vehicles, using smart fuzzing to test ICS devices, and vulnerabilities in industrial automation and control systems (IACS).

Both the first and second day of the event will feature ICS security expert panels.

On the third day of the event, attendees can take part in one of the three full-day workshops and training sessions focusing on Red Team/Blue Team training, managing industrial cybersecurity, and Advanced ICS/IIoT security training.

The event is sponsored by Claroty, Nozomi Networks, Fortinet, SANS Institute, ForeScout, PAS, Bayshore Networks, SecuNet, ThreatGen, Applied Risk and REDCON, with support from the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA), SGTech, IEC and the Singapore Manufacturing Federation.
