LookingGlass Cyber Solutions, an Arlington, VA-based provider of threat intelligence solutions, announced on Tuesday that it has acquired botnet monitoring firm Kleissner and Associates (K&A) for an undisclosed sum.

K&A monitors over 3 million global infections daily through its Virus Tracker and maintains a dedicated domain catching system, a database with more than 1.5 billion infection records and a botnet sinkholing system, the company told SecurityWeek.

K&A has three employees, all of which are joining LookingGlass.

While the acquisition is a small-scale deal, LookingGlass says the addition of K&A adds a strategic technology offering for customers and opens up new avenues for continued growth.

“We have had a strong working relationship with Kleissner and Associates for the past couple of years, and this acquisition will allow the combined company to deliver new and innovative services to our current customers,” said Chris Coleman, CEO of LookingGlass.

According to LookingGlass, the acquisition will help it deliver threat intelligence services to medium and small business markets and is an overall part of its long-term business strategy to deliver innovative threat intelligence.

The move to acquire K&A comes just months after LookingGlass acquired Deep Packet Processing (DPP) platform provider CloudShield in February and raised $20 million in Series B funding in March.
