Lookingglass Cyber Solutions, an Arlington, VA-based provider of cyber threat intelligence monitoring and management solutions, announced that Chris Coleman has taken the reigns as Chief Executive Officer.

Prior to joining Lookingglass, Coleman served as the Director of Cyber Security at Cisco, where he focused on identifying solutions to critical customer challenges for civilian, defense and intelligence organizations. Previously, Coleman served in key management roles with Integrated Data Systems and ManTech. Coleman also managed the NetWitness product development team.

Coleman, a SecurityWeek Expert contributor, has been serving as President of the company, and will continue to hold that title. He replaces Derek Gabbard, who will remain with the company as Chairman of the Board and Special Advisor.

In his role as CEO, Coleman will oversee all areas of the company’s growth and direction, including delivery of products and services to customers across the commercial, federal civilian agency and defense department communities.

“Lookingglass is entering an exciting phase with many in the industry realizing that they need to change the way they identify and address threats,” said Derek Gabbard, Lookingglass Chairman of the Board. “Lookingglass is in a real position to disrupt the market, and Chris has the experience to accelerate company growth and market demand for our ground breaking technology. I look forward to working with Chris in our new roles, as Lookingglass brings new technologies to market and addresses growing customer demands.”

Lookingglass’ ScoutPlatform, the company’s flagship offering, helps security operations teams to identify, understand and prioritize cyber threats, and offers continuous monitoring capabilities that alert customers to the presence of threats within networks that are relevant to their organization.

“Rather than being tied to the antiquated ‘stop any and all security events’ mindset, Lookingglass’ ScoutPlatform enables customers to rapidly determine the relevance of threats and more effectively focus resources, thereby adopting a new cyber security risk approach that tightly aligns business needs with operational realities,” the company explained.

“I look forward to moving into the role of CEO at such an important time for Lookingglass, as we prepare to enter a phase of extremely fast growth,” Coleman said in a statement. “We are seeing the accelerating convergence of our customer needs and product capabilities. Derek Gabbard has been key in architecting this growth and I look forward to executing on the vision he has put in place.”
