Intel Security announced this week at the RSA Conference in San Francisco enhancements to several of its enterprise offerings.
The improvements made to the company’s solutions are designed to provide customers stronger controls, greater visibility, and new integrations, Intel Security said.
According to the company, organizations using Data Exchange Layer are now able to share reputation and data classification information in real time between Intel Security solutions and products from partners such as TITUS, ForeScout and CloudHASH Security.
The new McAfee Web Protection 7.5.2 and McAfee Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Endpoint 9.3.5, both of which will become available in the second quarter of 2015, will be capable of sharing threat data, improving an organization’s ability to detect web attacks and prevent loss of valuable data.
McAfee Enterprise Security Manager now includes threat management features and is capable of correlating threat intelligence with payload data from McAfee Advanced Threat Defense 3.4.4. By integrating McAfee Threat Intelligence Exchange with McAfee Enterprise Security Manager, enterprises can identify endpoints that accessed or executed malicious files, Intel Security said.
McAfee Next Generation Firewall 5.9, which will become available later this year, will provide enhanced network visibility and data exfiltration prevention by leveraging fine-grained endpoint contextual and process-related information through the McAfee Endpoint Intelligence Agent (EIA).
The latest version of McAfee Email Protection, 7.6.4, also integrates with Enterprise Security Manager. By sharing and correlating indicators of compromise, enterprises can identify attacks faster, reducing the time needed to contain a breach and determine its scope, Intel Security said.
The company has also launched McAfee Public Cloud Server Security Suite. The solution aims at helping organizations that use the cloud and infrastructure as a service meet security needs and secure guest operating systems by providing enhanced visibility, protection, and control.
Intel Security has also announced a partnership with communications technology and services provider Ericsson. Through this partnership, the companies aim at providing telecom operators with managed security solutions that they can bundle with existing offerings.
“Attackers will always have the advantage as long as they have unlimited opportunities to determine which tactics are effective, while defenders struggle to understand the nature of what is confronting them,” said Chris Young, senior vice president and general manager of the Intel Security Group. “To shift the advantage from attackers to defenders, we need to dramatically re-think how we see, understand, and respond to security events, allowing defenses to adapt at least as fast as attackers adapt their tactics.”
