Government technology solutions provider ASRC Federal has appointed Ron Davis as Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer. Davis previously held cybersecurity leadership roles at Huntington Ingalls Industries, Vencore, and BAE Systems.
Jamf, a company that provides solutions for managing and securing Apple devices, has hired Andrew Smeaton as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Marc Botham as Global Vice President of Channel and Alliances. Smeaton has joined Jamf after serving as CISO at Afiniti, DataRobot, MIB Group, and The Saudi Investment Bank.
OpenAI CTO Mira Murati has resigned from her position at the artificial intelligence giant. As CTO Murati led OpenAI’s research, product and safety teams, along with the development and launch of its AI models including ChatGPT and image-generator DALL-E. Murati said she will “create the time and space to do my own exploration” and did not mention moving to another company.
Scott Lundgren has joined cybersecurity-focused venture capital company Ten Eleven Ventures as Operating Partner and CTO. Lundgren was a founding team member and CTO of Carbon Black (acquired by VMware). Prior to Carbon Black, Lundgren worked in offensive and defensive security roles supporting Microsoft, the US Air Force, and national intelligence operations.
Microsoft launched a Cybersecurity Governance Council led by CISO Igor Tsyganskiy and appointed thirteen Deputy CISOs who will oversee key security functions and engineering divisions. The software giant said the council will oversee “the largest cybersecurity engineering effort in history” with the equivalent of 34,000 full-time engineers dedicated to the Secure Future Initiative (SFI).
Jeff Harris has been named Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at the Federal Housing Finance Agency. Harris previously held cybersecurity leadership roles at the US Small Business Administration and the US Navy.
Software supply chain security solutions provider Endor Labs has hired Karl Mattson as its Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Mattson was previously CISO at Noname Security, acquired recently by Akamai. Prior to Noname, he served as CISO for City National Bank and PennyMac Financial Services.
