Government technology solutions provider ASRC Federal has appointed Ron Davis as Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer. Davis previously held cybersecurity leadership roles at Huntington Ingalls Industries, Vencore, and BAE Systems. 

Jamf, a company that provides solutions for managing and securing Apple devices, has hired Andrew Smeaton as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Marc Botham as Global Vice President of Channel and Alliances. Smeaton has joined Jamf after serving as CISO at Afiniti, DataRobot, MIB Group, and The Saudi Investment Bank.

OpenAI CTO Mira Murati has resigned from her position at the artificial intelligence giant. As CTO Murati led OpenAI’s research, product and safety teams, along with the development and launch of its AI models including ChatGPT and image-generator DALL-E. Murati said she will “create the time and space to do my own exploration” and did not mention moving to another company.

Scott Lundgren has joined cybersecurity-focused venture capital company Ten Eleven Ventures as Operating Partner and CTO. Lundgren was a founding team member and CTO of Carbon Black (acquired by VMware). Prior to Carbon Black, Lundgren worked in offensive and defensive security roles supporting Microsoft, the US Air Force, and national intelligence operations.

Jeff Harris has been named Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at the Federal Housing Finance Agency. Harris previously held cybersecurity leadership roles at the US Small Business Administration and the US Navy.

Software supply chain security solutions provider Endor Labs has hired Karl Mattson as its Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Mattson was previously CISO at Noname Security, acquired recently by Akamai. Prior to Noname, he served as CISO for City National Bank and PennyMac Financial Services.

Israeli data privacy startup Mine has appointed five new executives: Avi Israel as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Jessica Stanford as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), Michael Trites as Senior Vice President (SVP) of global sales, Dikla Yuval as Vice President (VP) of human resources, and Roee Silberman as VP of customer success. The expanded senior management team is expected to leverage the diverse skill sets to scale Mine’s operations.

Managed detection and response (MDR) and managed cyber risk reduction (MCRR) solutions provider Critical Start has announced the appointment of Scott White as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer. He replaces founder Rob Davis. Davis is retiring, but will remain Executive Chairman and will continue to support the company’s mission.

Bob Turner has been named chief information security officer (CISO) at Penn State University, effective Sept. 23. He previously served as CISO at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and was a senior manager of cybersecurity teams at Booz Allen Hamilton.

Defense contractor V2X (NYSE: VVX) has named Christopher Carter as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). In his new role, Carter, who has extensive experience in orchestrating effective cyber risk management, will focus on improving threat management and defense mechanisms for V2X.

Alphabet spinoff SandboxAQ has named Andrew McLaughlin as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). McLaughlin previously served as the first Head of Global Public Policy at Google and in multiple executive positions at other companies, and also founded and scaled various organizations and tech startups. In his new role, he will be responsible for scaling SandboxAQ’s AI and quantum business units.

Digital identity security provider Axiad has appointed Brian Szeto as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Lynne Boyd as Vice President (VP) of sales. In their new roles, Szeto will manage and oversee the organization’s financial activities, while Boyd will be responsible for developing sales strategies, managing customer relationships, and for revenue generation.

Secure infrastructure access firm Teleport announced that Jeff Bunten has joined the company as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), and Diana Jovin has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Bunten previously held leadership roles at Obsidian Security, Auth0, Okta, Oracle, Cisco and Riverbed Technology. Prior to Teleport, Jovin led product marketing at DigiCert. 

Former CISA Executive Director Brandon Wales has joined SentinelOne as Vice President of Cybersecurity Strategy. CISA announced Wales’ departure in July, after serving for nearly 20 years at the Department of Homeland Security. At SentinelOne, Wales joins former CISA Director Chris Krebs, who serves as Chief Intelligence and Public Policy Officer at the company.

SASE firm Netskope has announced the appointment of Wes Simons as Senior Vice President of North America Sales. He joins Netskope following several years as head of security sales for the Americas at Google. Prior to Google, he held sales leadership roles at Mandiant, FireEye, Secureworks, Proofpoint and Symantec.
