The DHS has appointed Amanda Day as Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Deputy Executive Director. Day has held various leadership roles at the DHS for the past 16 years, including Branch Manager of the DHS Cyber Security Operations Center (SOC) and CISO for the Science & Technology Directorate. In the past she also held key positions at Customs and Border Protection.

Taiwan chip giant TSMC has named Cliff Hou as its Chief Information Security Officer, effective January 1, 2025. He has been promoted from the role of Senior Vice President and Deputy Co-COO at TSMC.

Application security company Black Duck Software has announced the appointment of Ishpreet Singh as Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Bruce Jenkins as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Singh has joined Black Duck’s executive leadership team from Qualys and Jenkins has been promoted internally. Black Duck was established as a newly independent company following the acquisition by Clearlake Capital Group and Francisco Partners of Synopsys Software Integrity Group.

European banking giant ING has appointed Debbie Janeczek as chief information security officer (CISO), effective 13 January 2025. Janeczek joins ING from bank messaging network Swift where she served as CISO.

Ivanti has named current COO Dennis Kozak as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in a planned transition that takes effect on January 1, 2025. Kozak succeeds Jeff Abbott, who will remain on the company’s board of directors.

Integrated identity verification and account protection solutions provider Nametag announced that world renowned cybersecurity and cryptography expert Bruce Schneier has joined its advisory board to help the company enhance strategic direction and accelerate cybersecurity innovation. Schneier has wrote 14 books and regularly publishes insights on his Schneier on Security blog. He is a lecturer in public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS), a faculty affiliate at the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation at HKS, and a fellow at the Berkman-Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University.

Paul Kleinschnitz has been named Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) of SAP application security firm Onapsis. Prior to Onapsis, Kleinschnitz served as CRO at Corelight. He also held executive roles at BlueVoyant, Coalfire and First Data.

Nadav Zafrir has been named the new CEO of Check Point Software Technologies. Zafrir, co-founder and managing partner at Israeli tech investment firm Team8, replaces Gil Shwed, who will take on the role of Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors. Shwed, the co-founder of Check Point, announced in early 2024 that he would be stepping down after serving as the company’s CEO for 30 years.
