Pentest-as-a-Service (PtaaS) and offensive security firm Cobalt has announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Sonali Shah, a longtime cybersecurity executive and current Cobalt board member, as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer. Shah succeeds Chris Manton-Jones, who has held the position since April 2022.
GitHub has promoted Mike Hanley to the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Hanley transitions to the CTO role after serving as GitHub Chief Security Officer (CSO) and SVP of Engineering.
Two months after emerging from stealth mode, malicious manipulated content and deepfakes detection startup GetReal Labs has appointed Matt Moynahan as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Moynahan previously served in leadership positions at OneSpan, Forcepoint, Netscout (previously Arbor Networks), and Veracode. He will help GetReal Labs strengthen its market position, drive product innovation, scale operations, and expand partnerships.
The General Services Administration (GSA) has appointed Pete Waterman as Director of the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP). FedRAMP promotes the adoption of secure cloud services across the federal government by providing a standardized approach to security and risk assessment for cloud technologies and federal agencies. Waterman previously served as staff engineer for the U.S. Digital Service and was a senior technical advisor for the Technology Modernization Fund.
Mobile application security firm Promon has announced the appointment of Daniel Kollberg as its Chief Executive Officer. Kollberg will take up the role on September 16 at the company’s headquarters in Oslo, Norway. Kollberg previously held senior executive positions at cybersecurity companies such as SentinelOne, Palo Alto Networks, and FireEye, and held commercial leadership roles at NTT Security, McAfee, Nokia, and IBM.
IT solutions and services provider TD SYNNEX has named Alicia Lynch as its Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Prior to joining TD SYNNEX, she held cybersecurity leadership roles at Cognizant, SAIC, and Accenture.
AI-powered identity verification startup Vouched has appointed Peter Horadan as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Horadan previously held leadership positions at various companies, including Concur Technologies, Microsoft, and BEA Systems. In his new role, Horadan will use his experience to enhance Vouched’s solutions. The company’s founder John Baird will become Chairman of the Board and Chief Strategy Officer.
Andy Ellis has been appointed Partner at cybersecurity venture capital firm YL Ventures. Until now, Ellis served as Operating Partner at YL Ventures. Ellis is best known for his role as Chief Security Officer (CSO) at Akamai. After leaving Akamai, he founded a company named Duha, which specializes in executive consulting. Ellis is a seed investor in more than a dozen cybersecurity firms.
Joe Shenouda is co-founder and CEO of FenixLabs, a company that creates security frameworks for AI solutions throughout their lifecycle. Shenouda has also been named the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) a.i. of European lingerie giant Hunkemöller.
Abigail Bradshaw, Head of the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC), has been named the new Director General of the Australian Signals Directorate cyber intelligence agency. Bradshaw, who replaces outgoing chief Rachel Noble, has been deputy of the Australian Signals Directorate and head of the ACSC since 2020. She will take up the role of Director General on September 6.
