Warren Sponholtz has been named the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the State of Florida. Sponholtz said his focus is on modernizing IT infrastructure, ensuring data can be shared seamlessly, and strengthening cybersecurity defenses. He was previously Florida’s Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and the CIO of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Sponholtz served in the Marine Corps.

Identity governance and access management solutions provider Saviynt announced that Simon Gooch has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Expert Services. Prior to Saviynt, Gooch worked at Accenture for more than 25 years, most recently serving as Global Digital Identity Lead and Director of Security for CIO.

TextNow, a provider of free cellular and Wi-Fi-enabled phone service in the US, has announced Sean Bonawitz as senior director, head of Trust & Safety (T&S). Bonawitz previously led trust and safety teams at Patreon, YouTube, and TikTok, with expertise in machine learning, policy, content moderation, fraud operations and crisis management.

David Hirsch, who recently led the Securities and Exchange Commission’s CryptoAssets and Cyber Unit (CACU), has joined law firm McGuireWoods as a partner in Washington, D.C. At McGuireWoods, Hirsch will advise clients on matters related to cybersecurity and crypto assets.
