HP on Tuesday announced that it teamed up with cybersecurity firm Deep Instinct to provide a new malware protection solution for its latest EliteBook and ZBook laptops.

The new security solution, named HP Sure Sense, is a standalone, self-managed tool designed to protect users against cyber threats both online and offline.HP laptops get new security software

HP Sure Sense leverages Deep Instinct’s engine to provide real-time threat detection and prevention capabilities. The companies claim the solution can detect known and unknown threats, including file-based and fileless attacks, with a low rate of false positives.

According to HP, Sure Sense will be available on its new HP EliteBook 800 G6 series and HP ZBook 14u and HP ZBook 15u devices.

“We believe every PC decision is a security decision and the addition of HP Sure Sense to our hardware-enforced security stack reinforces our commitment to providing customers with the most secure and manageable PCs,” said Andy Rhodes, Global Head of Commercial Personal Systems at HP. “By teaming up with Deep Instinct on the development of HP Sure Sense, we are providing end users with a powerful solution that confidently predicts and prevents security threats both today and in the future.”

An industry source estimated for Reuters that Deep Instinct would get over $150 million over the next few years from this deal.
