Industrial giant Honeywell and network security firm Palo Alto Networks have established a partnership to offer joint solutions to help customers protect industrial control systems.

Under the new partnership, Honeywell’s Industrial Cyber Security division is offering Palo Alto Networks’ Next-Generation Security Platform to customers that operate industrial facilities and critical infrastructure environments.

According to the companies, the joint solution will offer process network traffic monitoring and threat prevention across industrial networks, and combines Palo Alto Networks’ integrated security platform with Honeywell’s process control expertise to provide a cybersecurity solution tailored for Process Control Networks (PCN) and Operational Technology (OT) environments.

The combined offering enhances Honeywell’s portfolio of cyber security solutions, including its Industrial Cyber Security Risk Manager platform, Honeywell said.

“Connecting vital infrastructure to the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) comes with tremendous benefit, but also associated cyber risks,” said Chad Kinzelberg, senior vice president of business and corporate development at Palo Alto Networks.

“The collaboration with Palo Alto Networks expands our ability to provide proactive intrusion prevention resulting in more robust protection for our customers,” Jeff Zindel, vice president and general manager, cyber security, Honeywell Process Solutions, said in a statement.
