Solution Helps Consolidate Multiple ID Badges into a Single Secure Certificate-based Credential
Digital security vendor Gemalto, on Monday launched Protiva MedSecure, a solution designed to help streamline identity verification for healthcare professionals.
Protiva MedSecure integrates a number of offerings, including authentication software, digital credentials, secure devices, servers and associated services.
The company explained, that using the solution, healthcare professionals are able to consolidate their ID badges into a single certificate-based credential that also enables simple login and logout at terminals and access to different entrance points.
In addition, Protiva MedSecure can be used for secure visual identity, as well as physical and logical access control to medical facilities and electronic medical records.
For added security, two-factor authentication helps ensure compliance with patient privacy and medical record protection. Additional security features include encryption and digital signatures for medical forms, or verification of authenticity for medical orders, which helps reduce paperwork.
