FireHost, a Dallas based cloud hosting provider that has made security the focus of its offerings, today announced that it has raised $10 Million in a Series B round of funding.
The investment was led by The Stephens Group, a family-owned private equity firm based in Little Rock, Arkansas. Other earlier-round investors participated in the round as well.
FireHost said it would use the fresh injection of cash to expand into the UK, advance its hosting and security platform and expand its sales and marketing efforts.
The secure cloud hosting company has customers in 26 countries, including several Fortune 50 and many Fortune 500 companies. The company also prides itself on hosting the website of known former-hacker Kevin Mitnick, a site that Firehost says is hit with thousands of hack attempts each day.
“FireHost has successfully ushered in its security-centered ethos to its cloud computing platform, and should capitalize on enterprise demand for secure cloud solutions,” said Antonio Piraino, vice president of Tier1 Research. “This funding comes at an opportune time, as we enter a heightened era of cloud innovation, particularly around SaaS solutions, and with it an increasing need to speak to the security assurances of using those off-premise products for core day-to-day business productivity.”
