Quarri Technologies, a firm that focuses on secure browsing sessions, has received $3M in Series B funding from the Houston Angel Network (HAN) which it will use to expand it’s presence in the North American market.
Quarri develops a browser protection services that secures data (DLP) as well as the endpoint from client-based malware such as keyloggers or form grabbers.
The product, Protect on Q (POQ), has recently gained a strong foothold in Europe and the UK. The additional funding will help the company expand into the North American market, which will place them in competition with Invincea, another vendor that focuses on hardened browser solutions.
The major difference between the two offerings is the focus on DLP in addition to client protection. POQ gives web sites and web applications the ability to extend and enforce security controls to the web sessions connecting to them, without impacting other applications.
Data loss is a constant risk for any business that utilizes a web interface. Information transferred to an endpoint device is vulnerable to theft or data leakage from keyloggers, video frame grabbers and other malware attacks, as well as end users, both careless and malicious.
“This round of funding will enable our team to now deliver our best-of-breed web security solution to organizations based in North America, helping to expand the global footprint of the company,” commented Bill Morrow, Quarri’s executive chairman.
Protect on Q is now generally available. Pricing starts at US $29.00 a year per user for 100 – 249 users.
