Awareness Technologies, a provider of “Insider Threat” security solutions, today announced enhancements to its InterGuard Software, allowing organizations to monitor all emails sent to and from BlackBerry devices and enabling employers to help prevent sensitive information from leaking accidentally or maliciously.

With the new features, employers can remotely view the contents of every email and SMS text message sent or received by employees, as well as see who the messages were sent to and from, immediately after deploying the solution. The BlackBerry monitoring features are additions to the InterGuard software which also monitors activity on desktop and laptop computers including email, instant messaging, social networking activity and Web browsing.

Employee monitoring software solutions are becoming an important tool for companies in regulated industries such as financial services and health care, where they need to comply with regulations such as FINRA to monitor and track all employee electronic communications.

The company plans to add support for Android and iPhone devices in 2011.
