Threat detection and response solutions provider Blumira on Wednesday announced raising $10.3 million in a Series A funding round led by early-stage venture capital firm Mercury.

Ten Eleven Ventures, M25, Array Ventures, and angel investors Zack Urlocker, Jim Cyb, and Jon Oberheide also took part in the funding round, which brings the total raised by Blumira to $12.9 million.

The startup plans on using the money to improve its product, hire more people, and expand its partnership program with managed service providers.

Founded in 2018, the Ann Arbor, Michigan-based company has developed a cloud-based security information and event management (SIEM) platform designed to help mid-market organizations that don’t have a dedicated cybersecurity team detect, investigate and respond to threats.

The platform can be integrated with many third-party applications and security tools, including cloud services, endpoint security products, identity solutions, and firewalls. Once a threat has been detected, automated remediation capabilities attempt to quickly block the attack.

Blumira’s Nato Riley presented on cloud security monitoring at SecurityWeek’s 2021 Cloud Security Summit, which can be seen on demand.
