Stack Overflow Discloses Security Breach

Stack Overflow, the popular Q&A platform for programmers, revealed on Thursday that someone gained access to its production systems over the weekend.

Only limited information has been made public so far, but Stack Overflow has promised to share more details after its investigation is completed. The company did say it found no evidence that customer or user data was compromised.Stack Overflow hacked

“We have confirmed that some level of production access was gained on May 11. We discovered and investigated the extent of the access and are addressing all known vulnerabilities,” Mary Ferguson, VP of Engineering at Stack Overflow, said in a short blog post.

Founded in 2008, Stack Overflow is the main website of the Stack Exchange Network. It has 10 million registered users and it has over 50 million unique visitors every month.

Back in December, the popular Q&A website Quora revealed that hackers possibly obtained information on roughly 100 million users, including names, email addresses and hashed password.
