Sensitive Information Exposed in Nutex Health Data Breach

Nutex Health has informed the SEC that it recently detected unauthorized access and data exfiltration.

Medical and healthcare cybersecurity

Houston-based healthcare management and operations company Nutex Health Inc. (NASDAQ: NUTX) has suffered a data breach that could involve sensitive information.

Nutex Health is a healthcare services and operations company that operates micro-hospitals, specialty hospitals, and outpatient departments.

The company revealed in an SEC filing this week that it recently detected unauthorized access to its network. Hackers accessed and exfiltrated files stored on some servers, including information that may be confidential or private.

Nutex is now trying to determine whether information related to patients, employees, providers, business and financial operations, and intellectual property was stolen.

“As of the date of this Current Report on Form 8-K, the Company does not believe that the unauthorized access has had, or is reasonably likely to have, a material impact on the Company’s business strategy, operations, financial condition or results of operations,” the company said.

No known cybercrime group appears to have taken credit for the attack on Nutex Health, but the company suggested in its disclosure that the attacker may leak the stolen information.
