Qualys, a provider of cloud-based security and compliance solutions, announced on Monday that the company has appointed Ann Johnson as President and Chief Operating Officer.
Johnson joins Redwood City, California-based Qualys from RSA where she held multiple roles over the past 13 years, most recently serving as Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Identity Protection and Verification and Global Accounts.
At Qualys, Johnson will lead global sales, business development efforts, and customer relations and support, the company said.
“Qualys has built an impressive security and compliance cloud platform and gained a solid reputation for its ability to closely partner with customers, managed security service providers, outsourcers and security consulting firms to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions,” said Johnson. “This is an exciting time to join the company when the industry as a whole is moving towards cloud computing solutions and security is a top priority at the executive board level, and Qualys is uniquely positioned to capitalize on that.”

Johnson holds a bachelors degree in communication and political science from Weber State University.
This is the second high profile executive to leave RSA in the past few weeks. Late last month, RSA’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Eddie Schwartz announced that he had left the security division of storage giant EMC to take on the role of VP of Security at Verizon Enterprise Solutions.
In related news of executives on the move, Symantec said on Tuesday that Francis deSouza, president of products and services, is leaving the company on December 1st to become President of Illumina, a San Diego, California-based life sciences company.
