Lumia Security Raises $18 Million for AI Security and Governance

The startup will invest in expanding its engineering and research teams, deepening product integrations, and scaling go-to-market efforts.

Funding

Israeli cybersecurity startup Lumia Security has announced raising $18 million in a seed funding round led by Team8, with additional support from New Era.

Founded in 2024 and headquartered in New York and Tel Aviv, Lumia Security has built a security and governance platform that provides organizations with visibility and control over how their employees use AI agents.

According to Lumia, its platform understands the action, intent, context, and content of AI interactions between employees or autonomous agents and AI tools.

The solution continuously evaluates exposure risks, delivers full visibility and control over AI agent actions, and enforces policies.

Lumia’s platform integrates at the network gateways for infrastructure-native governance, does not require endpoint modifications, and supports thousands of AI applications.

The new funding will allow the startup to expand its engineering and research teams, enhance integrations with AI ecosystems, and scale go-to-market efforts.

In addition to the $18 million in funding, Lumia announced the appointment of Admiral Michael Rogers, former NSA and US Cyber Command director, to its advisory board.

Lumia was founded by Omri Iluz, the co-founder of PerimeterX, which was acquired by Human Security, and Bobi Gilburd, former CTO of Israel’s military intelligence arm Unit 8200.

“Autonomous AI is accelerating faster than most organizations are prepared for. Enterprises need early visibility, clear guardrails, and a framework for accountability before these systems become embedded in every workflow,” Admiral Rogers said.
