Lockbox, a provider of secure file sharing solutions, today announced the availability of Lockbox for iPad and iPhone.

Lockbox offers a Client Portal that allows information to be shared with multiple parties simultaneously, providing quick, easy, and secure and private collaboration.

The new iOS client gives Lockbox customers the ability to view their files securely and privately via a mobile device such as an iPad or iPhone.

“This important step to bring Lockbox technology into the mobile realm will allow the benefits of anytime, anywhere data access, but with the signature privacy and security for which Lockbox is known,” the company said in a statement.

“We’re thrilled to release this app, which is the first step in an ongoing process to make the Lockbox family of file sharing products secure, yet simple and beautiful,” said Peter Long, CEO of Lockbox. “Businesses that in the past have stayed away from downloading sensitive data to their mobile devices can now share documents knowing that they can retain control of their data.”

Lockbox was founded in 2008 and enables businesses and consumers to exchange private and sensitive documents over the cloud through a file and folder encryption platform and cloud service.

In August, the company announced that it had raised $2.5 million in seed funding that will be used to expand the company and increase investment in sales and marketing.
