Dragos Acquires Network Perception to Boost Visibility

OT security firm Dragos has acquired Network Perception to enhance its platform’s visibility, segmentation and compliance capabilities.

OT security firm Dragos has acquired Network Perception to enhance its platform’s visibility, segmentation and compliance capabilities.

OT cybersecurity firm Dragos on Tuesday announced the acquisition of Network Perception, a Chicago, Illinois-based company that specializes in network visibility solutions.

Network Perception has developed a lightweight, non-invasive visualization platform for OT networks that is designed to identify bad configurations, assess risks, and ensure compliance.

Dragos said the acquisition of Network Perception enables it to enhance its platform’s network visibility, segmentation, and compliance capabilities.

Network Perception’s NP-View product analyzes configuration files for switches, routers and firewalls, and provides a network topology map, access paths, and firewall rule evaluations in order to help security teams identify and address risks.

“In the future, through the integration of NP-View’s topology and firewall rules analysis into the Dragos Platform, customers will be able to map their OT environment network topology more effectively, decide where to place Dragos Platform network sensors, map vulnerabilities to attack paths, and evaluate configuration and policy drift,” Dragos said.

“The dual layer visibility into what assets are communicating and what communication paths are possible will be a powerful security and compliance view of the OT environment. NP-View’s network segmentation capabilities will enhance Dragos’s strong defense mechanisms against lateral movement by adversaries within OT environments,” it added.
