Cybersecurity M&A Roundup: 25 Deals Announced in July 2024

Twenty-five cybersecurity-related merger and acquisition (M&A) deals were announced in July 2024.

An analysis conducted by SecurityWeek shows that 178 cybersecurity M&A deals were announced in the first half of 2024, representing the least busy half year since SecurityWeek started tracking M&A deals in 2021.  

Here is a list of the most important cybersecurity M&A deals announced in July 2024:

360 Advanced acquires Aberrant

Cybersecurity and compliance firm 360 Advanced announced the acquisition of Aberrant, a provider of what it calls an Information Security Management Platform (ISM-P). The Aberrant platform is designed to simplify security management for Managed Service Providers (MSPs).

Arieli EL acquires a majority stake in Elron Ventures

Arieli EL announced the acquisition of a 59.1% stake in cyber and B2B software holding company Elron Ventures for $53.2 million from Discount Investment Corporation. Elron Ventures has over $250 million in assets under management and its portfolio includes more than 19 companies across the cybersecurity, B2B software, and health-tech spaces.

Excite Cyber to acquire CBIT Digital Forensics Group

Excite Cyber wants to buy CBIT Digital Forensic Services, a provider of digital forensics solutions and training for government and commercial enterprises, for AUD4 million (USD2.67 million). As a result of the deal, Excite hopes to expand its managed services offering. 

Exiger acquires aDolus

Supply chain and third-party risk company Exiger has acquired software supply chain risk visibility platform aDolus Technology. The deal enhances Exiger’s supply chain visibility capabilities by integrating aDolus’ ability to generate SBOMs and analyze binaries for software provenance. 

Hiya acquires Loccus.ai

Voice security services firm Hiya has acquired deepfake detection company Loccus.ai. Loccus.ai adds deepfake voice detection capabilities to Hiya’s Adaptive AI fraud prevention system.

Marlink acquires Diverto

Managed services provider Marlink has acquired Diverto, a Croatia-based company that provides IT and OT security solutions for enterprises and critical infrastructure organizations. The deal enables Marlink to enhance its cybersecurity portfolio and capabilities. 

Mimecast acquires Code42

Email and collaboration security firm Mimecast has bought insider threat management and data loss prevention company Code42. The deal will help Mimecast expand its human risk management platform. 

Protect AI acquires SydeLabs

AI security firm Protect AI has announced the acquisition of SydeLabs, which specializes in the automated attack simulation (red teaming) of generative AI systems. This acquisition enhances Protect AI’s ability to test and improve LLM security.

Rapid7 acquires Noetic Cyber

Rapid7 has entered a definitive agreement to acquire cyber asset attack surface management (CAASM) company Noetic Cyber. The addition of Noetic’s CAASM solution to Rapid7’s existing cybersecurity solutions will provide more comprehensive visibility of a customer’s environment. 

SIXGEN acquires Secure-EE 

SIXGEN, a provider of cybersecurity products and expertise to US national intelligence, defense and critical infrastructure customers, announced its acquisition of Secure Enterprise Engineering (Secure-EE). Secure-EE’s cybersecurity system engineering, architecture, and operational capabilities will “empower digital warfighters”. 

ThreatConnect acquires Polarity

Threat intelligence firm ThreatConnect has acquired Polarity, a company that streamlines security analyst workflows. The combination gives SOC analysts, incident responders, threat hunters, and threat intelligence teams contextualized and correlated intelligence to improve detection and response.
