C/side Raises $6 Million to Secure the Browser Supply Chain

C/side has raised $6 million in a seed-stage funding round to help organizations protect against malicious browser third-party scripts.

C/side, an early stage startup focused on protecting against malicious browser-side third-party scripts, has raised $6 million in a seed funding round that brings the total raised by the company to $7.7 million.

The new investment round provided Uncork Capital, Mantis VC, PrimeSet, Roar Ventures, and existing investor Scribble Ventures. C/side raised $1.7 million in pre-seed funding in May 2024.

The startup is building tools to help businesses monitor, optimize, and secure third-party scripts, improving client-side protections to prevent zero-day attacks and the exploitation of known vulnerabilities.

The company said it proxies requests between the user’s browser and third-party scripts to identify suspicious behavior and even optimize site performance when needed. All that websites need to do is to install C/side’s own script.

C/side’s AI-driven detection engine can identify and neutralize nefarious scripts in real time, protecting organizations from cyberattacks and simplifying compliance.

According to the company, it can safeguard against third-party scripts that have been left unattended and which may be compromised by threat actors to steal sensitive information, redirect site visitors to malicious domains, or manipulate content.

Most websites, the company argues, have not implemented tools to monitor client-side behavior, and threat actors are increasingly seeking to mount their attacks in the browser.

C/side will use the new funding to accelerate the development of its proxy solution, improve its vulnerability detection engine, and expand its customer service, sales, and marketing teams.

“Security and IT teams cannot take a ‘set it and forget it’ approach to the third-party web scripts that run through their organization’s website. We understand what’s required to ensure ongoing visibility and protection, and offer an end-to-end solution that’s simple to deploy,” C/side founder and CEO Simon Wijckmans said.
