BreachRx Lands $15 Million as Investors Bet on Breach-Workflow Software

San Francisco incident response coordination startup banks $15 million in a Series A funding round led by Ballistic Ventures.

BreachRx, a San Francisco startup in the incident response space, has nabbed $15 million in a Series A funding round led by Ballistic Ventures.

The company, which is working on technology to revamp corporate incident response reporting systems, said the new financing included expanded equity positions for SYN Ventures and Overline.

The capital infusion, which lifts BreachRx’s total funding to about $23 million, puts former Mandiant chief executive Kevin Mandia on the board as the company pushes its incident-response software deeper into Fortune-grade accounts.

The funding lands thirteen months after BreachRx’s $6.5 million seed round with promises to “operational resilience for the entire enterprise with patented technology that automatically generates tailored incident response plans and provides targeted guidance to relevant stakeholders through every step of the process.”

The company said its product provides integrated privileged communication channels and audit trails to ensure compliance with SEC reporting rules and fast-changing compliance standards.

BreachRx said its technology can proactively protect CISOs and executive leadership from personal liability during cybersecurity incidents.

At its core, the BreachRx platform is described as a browser-based workspace for every stakeholder across an organization to coordinate and streamline cybersecurity incident response management.

The company said it enables real-time, cross-functional collaboration by clearly defining roles, responsibilities, and timelines, ensuring every team member knows exactly what to do and when to do it. The software also automates the creation of tailored playbooks for any type of incident and reports to track and measure response outcomes for Boards, auditors, and regulators.
