Application Security Startup Aikido Security Raises €5 Million

Aikido Security has raised €5 million (~$5.4 million) in seed funding for an all-in-one application security platform.

Application security startup Aikido Security on Tuesday announced that it has raised €5 million (approximately $5.4 million) in seed funding.

The investment round was co-led by Notion Capital and Connect Ventures, with additional participation from Inovia Capital Precede Fund I and various angel investors.

Founded in October 2022, the Belgium-based startup aims to provide SaaS businesses with an all-in-one platform that brings together various aspects of application security.

Aikido’s solution brings control over security issues found across code and cloud in a single dashboard and allows organizations to group related issues, check whether an exploit applies to them, and set rules for triaging.

The product also offers vulnerability management capabilities, featuring a vulnerability ranking system that differentiates between critical and less significant threats to a specific organization and safeguards security data to ensure uninterrupted business operations.

Aikido enables organizations to validate security bugs before merging code, to prevent them from entering production, and helps them stay compliant. Free scanning of GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, and Azure DevOps repositories is also available.

The company says it has achieved over 1,000 installs over the past year. The new investment round will help Aikido enhance its platform and expand its international presence.

“Startups often struggle with managing scattered security tools, resulting in noise and false positives that burden security staff. With Aikido, we want to bring a 9-in-1 security platform to the ones who need it most: security teams that are juggling between multiple tools with confusing pricing models and countless irrelevant alerts,” Aikido CEO and CTO Willem Delbare said.
