Wells Fargo on Monday said that it has appointed Rich Baich to the role of chief information security officer (CISO).
Baich will join San Francisco-based Wells Fargo late this summer following his departure from Deloitte and Touche, where he has led the Global Cyber Threat and Vulnerability Management Practice.
Prior to Deloitte and Touche, Baich served in several executive security roles including Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP, ChoicePoint, and the FBI.
As Wells Fargo’s CISO, Baich will be charged with masterminding the company’s security vision, strategy, and programs designed to secure both customer and company information.

Baich also served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years as an Information Warfare Officer, Cryptology Officer, and Surface Warfare Officer. He earned an undergraduate degree at the United States Naval Academy and completed a Master of Science in Management degree in Financial Management as well an M.B.A from the University of Maryland.
