Trend Micro Launches Mobile Security for Android

Trend Micro today announced Trend Micro™ Mobile Security, new software designed to help protect Android-powered mobile devices against cyber-attacks.

Available now in the Android Market, the software helps protect digital files and secures banking transactions on Android devices by identifying and stopping cybercriminals and online threats before they can attack. Requiring little space and specifically built for Android devices, Trend Micro Mobile Security provides the protection and freedom consumers need to stay mobile.

Key Features of Mobile Security for Android include:

• Safe surfing – Cloud-based real-time and browser protection

• Web reputation and parental controls

• Download protection

• Call and text filtering – Custom filtering lists enable users to screen or block unwanted calls or messages

Trend Micro Mobile Security requires Android OS 2.x, minimum of 4MB storage space and 7MB of memory is recommended. The App is priced at $3.99 one time fee. With Android’s growth rate of over 850 percent, Trend Micro says this is the first of many applications planned for the Android platform.
