TIBCO Software, a provider of infrastructure software solutions, has released the latest version of its log management solution, which now offers increased operational control, insight, and assurance capabilities derived from machine data.

Now in version 5.5, the latest iteration of TIBCO’s log management platform provides customers with a centralized source for enterprise log and machine data, improving business agility and achieving cost savings.

LogLogic 5.5 enables enterprises and managed security service providers (MSSPs) to increase productivity by using machine data management to act and respond more efficiently when identifying event and log data issues related to compliance, IT operations and security, the company said.

TIBCO acquired LogLogic in a deal valued at roughly $130 million in April 2012.

The recent enhancements will help the company compete with companies such as Splunk and Sumo Logic, in terms of tapping machine data for operational intelligence and control.

According to LogLogic, version 5.5 can easily forward the appropriate data to different applications, making it easy to test and upgrade applications, as well as help users process data in real time to gain instant awareness and take action.

“The ability to scale easily and automatically find, filter and forward the right machine data to the right applications and individuals is vital to businesses and MSSPs, especially as we transition into a mobile-first web experience,” said Frank Brown, business development, cloud solutions, Versatile Technologies. “By centralizing logs onto a common platform, LogLogic 5.5 reduces time-to-insights and enables our team to focus more on core competencies that deliver the most value to our customers.”

“Many of our customers process machine data from a vast number of sources and for different purposes — some managing as many as one million events per second,” said Craig Hinkley, vice president and general manager, TIBCO. “Combined with TIBCO’s broad expertise in event processing and integration, LogLogic 5.5 offers a real-time machine data management platform focused on providing operational advantage with industry-leading ease of deployment and faster time-to-insight than ever before.”
