ThreatStream, a security startup that recently raised $22 million, unveiled on Tuesday at the RSA Conference a new Apple Watch application that allows users of the company’s flagship ThreatStream OPTIC platform to easily manage threat intelligence regardless of their location.
ThreatStream OPTIC is a threat intelligence management platform designed to provide enterprise security teams useful intelligence from hundreds of sources. The solution aggregates, analyzes and ranks threat intelligence in real time, and feeds it to existing security products.
The new Apple Watch app, which is also available for iPhones and iPads, provides users full access to the Optic dashboards. The application enables ThreatStream OPTIC customers to respond to threat alerts with a simple tap or voice command.
According to ThreatStream, the new app allows security operations center (SOC) analysts who own an Apple Watch, iPad or iPhone to receive alerts and notifications in real time, and respond to them on the go.
“Now the busy security professional on the go can be notified and respond to adversary tactics as they change in real time, all with a few taps on his or her Apple Watch,” noted Hugh Njemanze, CEO of ThreatStream. “With our new Apple Watch and iOS app, we’re giving our customers complete situational awareness as well as the ability to take action and respond to a priority threat from the field. ThreatStream is committed to making threat intelligence as simple as possible to operationalize and as available as it should be to security teams that can’t always be glued to the monitors in the SOC.”
ThreatStream customers will be able to download the new application for free from the Apple App Store within 30-60 days.
