Symantec announced on Tuesday that Balaji Yelamanchili has been named executive vice president and general manager, Enterprise Security Products at the company.

Yelamanchili comes to Symantec from Oracle where he was senior vice president, overseeing the company’s analytics and performance management products. Prior to Oracle, he was a senior vice president and co-general manager at EMC, within the company’s Content Management and Archiving division.

In addition to hiring Yelamanchili, Symantec announced that Jeff Scheel would take on the role as senior vice president, Corporate Development, Alliances and Strategy and lead the company’s security partnerships and development of its security business strategy.

Scheel comes to Symantec from FireEye, where he was recently vice president, Business Development, Global Services and Cloud Solutions.

Last month Symantec announced its plans to split into two separate, publicly traded companies – one focused on security, the other focused on information management.

“Balaji is a proven leader, with a stellar track record of driving large and globally distributed teams that deliver quality products on time,” said Mike Brown, Symantec president and CEO, who took over as CEO in September after being named interim CEO in March. “I’m excited about the focus he will bring to our Enterprise Security Products, which will now be managed as a business unit.”

The company’s security business generated $4.2 billion in revenue in fiscal year 2014, while its information management business had revenues of $2.5 billion during the same period.

The company expects to complete the spinoff by the end of December 2015.
