Today’s Mobile Threats

The consumerization of IT is happening. Enterprises are allowing employees to use their own devices and take advantage of the growing ecosystem of mobile apps. Furthermore, employees are bringing their personal devices into the workplace and requesting approval to access corporate resources— hoping to carry only one device for both personal and corporate use.

Enterprises are responding by allowing employees to use personal devices in the workplace, creating custom apps to increase productivity, and developing customer-facing (B2C) apps to enable a new way of engaging customers. Until now, enterprises focused on device management and device security. As the consumerization of IT, the “bring your own device” (BYOD) to the office, and customer-facing (B2C) app trends develop, IT departments must introduce measures to secure the apps themselves, not just the devices.

The industry must think beyond the device and add fine-grained security policies into the individual app to protect confidential corporate information. In this week’s Webcast, Mocana will demonstrate how this can be done.
