RSA announced this week the launch of a new family of smart identity solutions designed to help businesses address the challenges resulted from the increase of users, devices, and data.

The new portfolio, RSA Via, includes several offerings for authentication, identity and access management, and identity governance. The platform includes RSA Via Access, RSA Via Lifecycle, and RSA Via Governance.

According to RSA, the solution increases employee productivity and business agility by simplifying authentication, access review, access request, and single sign-on processes. Furthermore, the identity management process is automated, allowing organizations to ensure that compliance, business, and efficiency demands are met.

RSA Via is designed to protect enterprises against attacks involving rogue access points through integrated identity management that covers all systems and users.

RSA Via Access allows an organization’s employees to access web or SaaS applications securely even from outside the network. The solution speeds up access to applications, provides user-friendly step-up authentication options for users’ own devices, and enables IT teams to govern access based on context-sensitive policies.

RSA Via Lifecycle is designed to simplify and automate the access request process by providing an easy-to-use interface for requesting and granting access. Businesses can use the solution, which they can place on top of existing provisioning systems, to execute user access changes rapidly and reliably, RSA said.

For sustainable compliance, enterprises can automate monitoring, certification, reporting and remediation of user entitlements by utilizing RSA Via Governance. The solution, part of the company’s identity management and governance platform, simplifies user access governance across the organization.

The two-factor authentication solution RSA SecurID can be used together with RSA Via Access to secure cloud-based applications such as Salesforce, Office 365, Workday and Google Apps. RSA Adaptive Authentication, a risk-based authentication and fraud detection platform, is also included in the RSA Via portfolio.

“Traditionally, IAM systems are failures from the start as they use static rules to manage what is a tremendously dynamic environment, ultimately leaving businesses at risk. Whether an employee leaves an organization, there’s a new hire, or someone shifts roles within a company, IT must change what that person can access and it must be seamless to the user,” said Jim Ducharme, Vice President of Engineering and Product Management at RSA.

“RSA Via technology is built for a world of constant change and able to make informed decisions as the business evolves. Encompassing both the convenience and ease business managers and employees demand with the security IT requires, RSA Via is engineered to offer the best of both worlds when it comes to identity management,” Ducharme added.

RSA Via Lifecycle and RSA Via Governance are already available, and RSA Via Access will become available in June.
