Raytheon Expands Military-focused Cybersecurity Offerings With Acquisition of Blackbird Technologies
Raytheon announced on Wednesday that it has acquired Blackbird Technologies, a provider communications and cybersecurity solutions to the Intelligence Community (IC), Special Operations Command (SOCOM) and intelligence organizations supporting the Department of Defense, for roughly $420 million.
Blackbird develops sensors, reconnaissance products, and apps for enterprise and mobile platforms together with secure infrastructure for globally transmitting mission-critical data and protecting critical assets from cyber attacks.
Herndon, Virginia-based Blackbird will become part of Raytheon Company’s Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) business, and make the company one of the top industry partners to SOCOM.
Blackbird Technologies also provides synergies with Raytheon’s existing cybersecurity, sensor, communications and command and control capabilities, Raytheon said.
