Rad Security has raised $14 million in Series A funding for a defense platform for AI workloads and cloud infrastructure.

Rad Security on Monday announced raising $14 million in Series A funding for its AI and cloud security platform.

This funding round, which brings the total raised by Rad Security to $20 million, was led by Cheyenne Ventures, with participation from Forgepoint Capital, Lytical Ventures, Akamai, .406 Ventures, Vertex Ventures, and Gula Tech Adventures.

Rad Security has developed an AI-driven defense platform that can improve operational efficiency for security teams, and enable the safe and secure use of AI within an organization.

The solution can also secure cloud and AI workloads, using runtime security and behavioral fingerprinting to establish baselines and identify deviations that could indicate malicious activity.

“We’re using this new funding to take Rad Security to the next level—expanding our platform’s AI-driven capabilities and growing our presence in key global markets. A big focus will be on enhancing our AI-powered threat modeling, giving security teams even more advanced tools to detect and respond to evolving risks in real time,” Rad Security co-founder and CEO Brooke Motta told SecurityWeek

“Now was the right time to raise because the demand for robust cloud and AI security has never been higher, with a total addressable market estimated at about $84 billion. Businesses are rapidly adopting AI, but with that comes new security challenges like Shadow AI, data exfiltration, and compliance risks,” Motta said.
