PGP Co-Founder Joins Entrust as Chief Technology Officer

Dallas based Entrust, announced today that Jon Callas, a co-founder of PGP Corporation, has been appointed Chief Technology Officer for the company.

Dallas based Entrust, announced today that Jon Callas, a co-founder of PGP Corporation, has been appointed Chief Technology Officer for the company.

Prior to joining Entrust, Callas co-founded well-known encryption software firm PGP Corporation (acquired by Symantec), where he held various leadership positions including CTO and CSO. Most recently, Callas also served as an operating system security expert with Apple. He has also held leadership positions with Wave Systems, Digital Equipment Corporation and Counterpane Internet Security Inc. He has also authored several Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) standards including OpenPGP, DKIM, and ZRTP.

As Entrust’s Chief Technology Officer, Callas will report directly to President and CEO, Bill Conner and be responsible for shaping the direction of new technology and innovation, with a particular focus on mobile, as well as logical and physical security. “I am very pleased that Jon Callas will be joining Entrust’s senior leadership team,” said Conner. “Jon’s deep understanding of mobile security, coupled with his recognized expertise in growing and leading software businesses make him a natural complement to our organization.”
