Pareto Networks Hires Former McAfee Executive as CEO

Pareto Networks announced Daniel “Dan” Ryan, former executive vice president and general manager of McAfee’s (MFE) network security business unit, will serve as CEO of the Cloud-based networking company.

Pareto Networks announced Daniel “Dan” Ryan, former executive vice president and general manager of McAfee’s (MFE) network security business unit, will serve as CEO of the Cloud-based networking company.

Prior to joining Pareto Networks, Dan Ryan was the executive vice president and general manager for the network security business unit of McAfee, Inc. There he was responsible for driving the worldwide growth of the network and content security segments, overseeing the introduction and integration of numerous products, including network intrusion prevention, firewalls, and secure mail and web gateways.

Ryan joined McAfee in 2008 when it acquired Secure Computing (SCUR) for $465M. As president, chief executive officer, and director of Secure Computing, he was responsible for the $250M industry leader in enterprise network and gateway security solutions, which included the pioneering web security delivered as-a-service offering.

Prior to its acquisition by McAfee, Ryan oversaw two acquisitions and a substantial divestiture. Prior to Secure Computing, Ryan held executive positions with Oracle (after their acquisition of Stellent) as well as Foglight Software.

Dan received his B.Sc. in Mathematics and Economics from University of Minnesota.
