Palo Alto Networks today announced that it has added a number of partners to provide managed security services for its line of next generation firewalls, including BT Global Services, Solutionary, Symantec and Verizon.

Today’s news follows an announcement made late last month that Dell SecureWorks will bring its full firewall management and monitoring services to Palo Alto Networks’ customers.

To support its partners, Palo Alto Networks provides them with a collection of tools and mechanisms to support their service offerings, from relatively low impact monitoring and reporting to comprehensive management of an enterprise’s existing network security devices and turnkey arrangements that entail full ownership and responsibility from initial deployment and provisioning onward. Examples of such tools and mechanisms include a powerful XML API for management purposes; custom logging capabilities; a reference implementation for a customer portal; and robust provisioning capabilities.

“Through these partnerships, we are able to present customers with a solution that is highly differentiated — in functionality and performance — while is supported by their preferred managed services partner,” said Punit Minocha, vice president of corporate and business development at Palo Alto Networks.

Palo Alto Networks’ next-generation firewalls enable high visibility and granular policy control of applications and content by user, and control applications regardless of port, protocol, evasive tactic or SSL encryption at speeds up to 20Gbps.

The company also recently announcement the expansion of its Technology Partner Program, which originally launched in February and now has 15 partners on board.
