Palisade Systems has released a new Web based Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solution targeted towards small and medium-sized enterprises, to help avoid data leaks in a cost effective manner.

ComplianceSafe DLP solution launched by Palisade is designed to work as a Web based service similar to social networking platform Facebook and is capable of preventing data leaks via outbound emails. The system is built keeping in mind the data security threats faced by small and medium scaled organizations and allows them to manage sensitive and private user data security protocols without the need of an IT department.

With pressure mounting from information security watchdogs, small and medium sized enterprises operating in healthcare, financial and retail sectors are required to take utmost care while handling sensitive and private user information, which are vulnerable to internet and external security leaks from time to time.

Not complying with security standards can result in massive fines and loss of business and reputation, something which SMBs can’t afford to risk. SMBs are subject to many of the same state and federal rules and regulations as large organizations including several state laws, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCIDSS). The ComplianceSafe solution ensures that sensitive and confidential data being handled by the organizations remains secure, allowing the enterprises to operate as per the data security standards they are expected to follow.

The software is designed to monitor the data being sent out via outbound emails, thereby reducing the risk of transmission of sensitive data.

Palisade Systems CEO Christian Renaud, said in a statement that “There was an entire market segment locked out of data loss prevention services because of price and a complex implementation process favored enterprise organizations with IT departments.”
