French telecom giant Orange on Tuesday announced that it signed an agreement to acquire Netherlands-based cybersecurity firm SecureLink.
Orange will acquire 100% of SecureLink for an undisclosed amount at a valuation of €515 million ($577 million). As part of the deal, which is expected to be completed in late Q2 or Q3, SecureLink senior management will join Orange’s leadership team.
SecureLink provides a wide range of cybersecurity services, including consulting, managed incident detection and response, and security maintenance and support. Founded in 2003, the company has offices in Northern, Western and Central Europe, over 660 employees, and more than 2,100 customers. For 2018, it reported revenues of €248 million ($277 million).
By acquiring SecureLink, Orange hopes to improve its cybersecurity offering and accelerate its expansion in the European market.
Orange offers cybersecurity services through its Orange Cyberdefense unit, which provides threat intelligence, managed detection and response, and managed security services. This unit reported revenues of €303 million ($339 million) last year.
Earlier this year, Orange announced the acquisition of SecureData Group, the largest independent cybersecurity services provider in the UK.

Proximity because in the global IT world, you want a trusted local partner to secure your most strategic assets,” said Hugues Foulon, Executive Director of Cybersecurity at Orange.
“With the acquisition of SecureData and SecureLink, Orange has the highest scale to anticipate and fend off attacks, as well as local defense teams in all the main European markets, positioning the combined organisation as the go-to defense specialist,” Foulon added.
