OPSWAT, which specializes in cybersecurity solutions for critical infrastructure, on Monday announced the acquisition of industrial cybersecurity company Bayshore Networks.
Bayshore Networks has developed security solutions for industrial control systems (ICS) and operational technology (OT). Its offering includes industrial security appliances, security gateways for IT and OT, an industrial secure remote access product, and an asset discovery and flow visualization tool.
OPSWAT has acquired all assets of Bayshore Networks in an effort to expand its critical infrastructure protection capabilities to OT environments. Bayshore’s products and employees will become part of OPSWAT. Kevin Senator, CEO of Bayshore Networks, will join OPSWAT as a consultant.
“This asset acquisition will add key capabilities in unidirectional/bidirectional secure data transfer in critical networks, intrusion prevention for industrial devices, secure remote access for OT assets and ultimately help expand OPSWAT’s mission to deliver best-in-class cybersecurity solutions to protect critical infrastructure,” OPSWAT said in a press release.
This is OPSWAT’s fourth acquisition. It previously acquired network monitoring solutions firm Napera Networks in 2012, email security company Red Earth Software in 2015, and network access control (NAC) solutions provider Impulse in 2019.
Earlier this year, the company announced raising $125 million in growth funding, part of which was set aside for strategic acquisitions.
When the funding was announced, OPSWAT CEO Benny Czarny revealed that his company could go public in a couple of years.
Founded nearly two decades ago, OPSWAT claims to have more than 1,500 customers worldwide, including in the defense, energy, manufacturing, financial services, aerospace, and transportation systems sectors.
