Nominum, a provider of DNS management solutions, today officially announced that it has appointed Gary Messiana as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer where he will oversee corporate strategy and operations for the company as it looks to enhance its products and expand into new markets.

Redwood City based Nominum was founded in 1999 to develop BIND 9 and ISC DHCP3 for the Internet Software Consortium (ISC). Dr. Paul Mockapetris, the inventor of DNS and Nominum Chairman and Chief Scientist, and Ted Lemon, author of the first widely used DHCP implementation, helped the company release CNS and DCS, the first commercial-grade DNS and DHCP products in 2002.
