Mobile Security Company NetQin Gets $20 Million Funding

Beijing based mobile security service provider, NetQin Mobile Inc., announced it has received a third round of investor funding of $20 million. NetQin provides mobile security solutions- including anti-virus, anti-spam SMS/telephone, and privacy protection services. With this latest injection of cash in hand, the company has a goal to become the largest mobile security service provider worldwide.

With this latest injection of cash in hand, the company has a goal to become the largest mobile security service provider worldwide.

Founded in October 2005, NetQin is backed by leading venture capital firms, including two rounds of venture capital investment totaling $15 million in 2007 from GSR, Sequoia, Ceyuan, and Fidelity Asia. NetQin says that as of March 2010, it provides mobile security services to more than 43 million users in 200 countries worldwide. NetQin is accelerating its globalization expansion through close partnership with operators, phone manufacturers, retailers and internet companies.

NetQin has entered into European and North American markets through partnerships with Huawei and PhoneGuard. The company holds 68% of the mobile security market in China according to Frost & Sullivan.
