McAfee today announced that Stuart McClure has been named worldwide Chief Technology Officer at the Santa Clara, California-based security subsidiary of Intel.
Effective immediately, McClure will work and collaborate with senior leaders at McAfee on customer requirements, knowledge sharing, strategy, development efforts, research, and patents, and will report to Todd Gebhart, co-president of McAfee.
McClure joined the company in 2004 following McAfee’s $86 million acquisition of Foundstone, which he co-founded, and served as president and CTO. He also previously held positions at companies including Kaiser Permanente, Ernst & Young, and IDG.
“Stuart McClure brings tremendous experience and insight to his new role as worldwide CTO, especially with respect to the evolving threat landscape,” said Todd Gebhart, co-president of McAfee. “He has played a key role in solving core industry challenges such as security management, whitelisting and embedded security, and he will be a leader in seizing the opportunities that lie ahead.”

McClure is also the author of, “Hacking Exposed: Network Security Secrets & Solutions” which has sold more than 600,000 copies worldwide.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder and holds numerous certifications, including Certified Network Engineer (CNE) and Check Point Certified Security Engineer (CCSE).
